Accessibility statement

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Accessibility is treated as part of building a page rather than as a later audit.

• Semantic HTML structure with a single, meaningful heading hierarchy on every page.
• A “skip to content” link as the first focusable element.
• Full keyboard operability, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
• Colour contrast meeting or exceeding WCAG AA in both light and dark colour schemes.
• Colour never used as the sole means of conveying information — evidence grades, ratings and warnings all carry text labels.
• Data tables with proper header cells and scope attributes, and wide tables that scroll within their own container so the page never scrolls sideways.
• Form controls with associated labels, and results announced to assistive technology via live regions.
• Text that reflows to 320px width without loss of content or function, and resizes to 200% without breaking layout.
• Reduced-motion preferences respected — smooth scrolling is disabled when you have asked your system for less motion.
• Automatic support for your system light or dark colour scheme.

Being specific here is more useful than a blanket claim of compliance:

• Some third-party content we link to — partner websites, source documents — is outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
• Long comparison tables remain demanding to navigate with a screen reader, even when correctly marked up. Where possible we also present the same information in prose.
• Medical terminology is unavoidable in places. We define terms on first use, but the reading level is higher than we would like in some clinical sections.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five business days, and to provide the information you were looking for in an alternative format if we cannot fix the barrier immediately.

This statement reflects our own assessment, combining automated testing with manual keyboard and screen reader checks. It has not been independently audited. We will update this page when that changes, and we will not claim a certification we do not hold.
