How it actually works
GoodRx negotiates cash prices through pharmacy benefit managers and publishes them. You search for your medication, strength and quantity; it shows what several nearby pharmacies will charge; you present the coupon at the counter and pay that price.
Using it well
- Search the exact strength and quantity your prescriber wrote — prices are not proportional across strengths.
- Compare at least three pharmacies. Warehouse clubs and supermarket pharmacies often win.
- Ask the pharmacist to run both the coupon and your insurance, then charge you the cheaper.
- Check the 90-day supply price; per-tablet cost usually falls.
- Screenshot the price before you go — advertised prices occasionally fail to load at the counter.
- You cannot combine it with insurance on the same fill. Choose one.
The privacy question
Any platform sitting between you and your prescription sees sensitive information. This sector has faced regulatory action over sharing health-related data with advertising platforms, and that history is worth knowing before you create an account.
Practically: you can use a printed or screenshotted coupon without an account, which limits what is linked to you. Read the current privacy policy — it is the specific policy in force today that matters, not what it said previously.
Reviewed individually
GoodRx sells several different things, and they are not equivalent — some are FDA-approved generics, some are brand-name originals, and some are compounded formulations that have not been through FDA review. Each is reviewed separately, with the retail price of the same molecule shown alongside.

Generic sildenafil
Sildenafil citrate
GoodRx does not sell sildenafil — it shows you which pharmacy will sell it cheapest and gives you the coupon. For the most-counterfeited, most-marked-up drug in men's health, that is worth knowing about.

Generic tadalafil
Tadalafil
Coupon pricing on generic tadalafil, including the daily low-dose strengths. Because tadalafil needs fewer doses than sildenafil, this is often the lowest annual cost route of all.
